NOTICE

The State Engineer has prepared the List of Unclaimed Rights of Record for the Provo Canyon Subdivision (Area 55, Book 9) in the Utah Lake and Jordan River General Adjudication (pursuant to Utah Code § 73-4-9.5). The List of Unclaimed Rights of Record is available electronically in PDF format on the Division of Water Rights website at the following address: http://www.waterrights.utah.gov/pdbooks/ProvoCanyonLUR. A copy will also be on file with the Clerk of the Third Judicial District Court in and for Salt Lake County. Additional copies may be obtained, upon payment of the cost of duplication, from the Division of Water Rights, 1594 West North Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. Any claimant who desires to object to the List of Unclaimed Rights of Record must file a written objection and a water user’s claim with the Clerk of the Third Judicial District Court in and for Salt Lake County (pursuant to Utah Code § 73-4-9.5). A water user’s claim must also be concurrently filed with the State Engineer. Objections to the List of Unclaimed Rights of Record must be filed within ninety (90) days from the date of service.

The State Engineer will be holding an all-electronic public meeting on September 2, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss the List of Unclaimed Rights and review the adjudication process. The holding of a meeting in person at an anchor location presents a substantial risk to the health and safety of those who may be present due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Public meetings held by the State Engineer regarding the adjudication of water rights in the past have drawn in excess of fifty (50) people. Current guidelines from the Governor’s Office recommend limiting gatherings and groups to fifty (50) people and encourage working remotely whenever feasible. Therefore, the State Engineer determines that holding this meeting through electronic means without an anchor location will best serve the State of Utah’s efforts to combat COVID-19 while still allowing interested members of the public to participate in proceedings. The public meeting will be viewable via live stream broadcast on-line at http://www.waterrights.utah.gov/publicmeetings. Questions and comments may be sent via email to WaterRights_Adjudication@utah.gov during the meeting. Questions and comments received during the meeting will be addressed at the meeting. For more information please contact the Utah Division of Water Rights at 801-538-5282.
