“I live in a small-town rich with Swiss heritage, nestled at the foot of the majestic Timpanogas Mountain range.” On June 5th Utah High School Rodeo announced the 2019-2020 rodeo queen. Standing down in the arena were five, highly qualified contestants who have put in a lot of hard work and study into being where they were at that minute. Among those girls was McKardy Kelly.

McKardy is the daughter of Jason and Misty Kelly. She is a Junior at Wasatch High School. McKardy has been active in rodeo since could talk. She memorized her first speech when she was six and has been on horseback well before. Kardy has accomplished many things in her life. Last year, she was the 2018-2019 Utah High School Rodeo queen, as well as, the 1st attendant for the National High School Rodeo Association.

With emotions running high, the announcer started to announce the outcome of the contest that was held a few days before. Contestant number 1 was announced several times as each category was shared. The outcome, McKardy Kelly to win Utah High School Rodeo Queen. McKardy will head again to Rock Springs, Wyoming to compete in the Nation. We are so proud of McKardy and her accomplishments. Good Luck at Nationals McKardy!
