WHS Academic Decathlon Team Takes 2nd at State Competition

This past weekend, the Wasatch High School Academic Decathlon team competed and took second in state. The accomplishment came with a strong team effort. All team members won medals for their individual performances, as well as contributing to the total team score. Every individual competed in ten areas that they have all been preparing for both individually and in team meetings during the current school year.

Individually, Sven Soderborg earned silver medals in mathematics and economics and gold medals in science and essay. He was also the team’s top scorer. Hannah Heath earned a silver medal in music and a gold medal in speech. Robin Duke earned bronze medals in music, speech, professional interview, and social science and a gold medal in art.
