Wayne Burton Thacker passed away peacefully in Salt Lake City on Oct. 2, 2018.

He was a longtime resident of the Heber Valley. Wayne was born on Jan. 20, 1931, in Charleston to George Angus Thacker and Chloe Loretta Stanley. He grew up in the Heber Valley and graduated from Wasatch High School. Wayne served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was married to Donna Buhler on May 14, 1954, in the Salt Lake Temple. He Was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission with Donna in the West Virginia Charleston Mission.

Wayne is survived by his sister Anna Durrant of Kaysville; sister-in-law Gennie Coleman of Salt Lake City; his children Shauna (Steven) Horner, Lyn Christian (Susan McLaughlin), William B (Karen) Thacker and John W. Thacker; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Wayne’s family brought him joy and happiness throughout his life.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, at 12 noon, in the Heber 8th Ward, 1205 West 650 South, Heber City.

Viewings will be held at the same location, Friday, Oct. 12, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday morning, from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Internment will be in the Charleston Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.probstfamilyfunerals.com
