Former Wasatch High School Volleyball player Sydnie Martindale will be competing this weekend with her BYU teammates in the sweet 16 at the NCAA Volleyball tournament. The Cougars take on host University of Kentucky in Lexington on Friday at 10:00am MST.

The Cougars defeated the Oregon Ducks from the Pac 12 on Saturday in the Smith Fieldhouse 3-0 in front of 4,000 fans. Martindale, a junior defensive specialist for BYU, had 7 digs in the winning effort.

After 2 seasons as a Snow College Badger in the Scenic West Athletic Conference, and a two time conference Libero of the year, Martindale was recruited by the Cougars for the 2017 season. She is the daughter of Brent and Laurel Martindale, and the grand-daughter of long time Heber residents Earl and Donna Dayton.

The BYU/Kentucky match will be televised locally on ESPNU at 10:00am on Friday, December 8th.
