Fire managers, along with personnel from the U.S Forest Service, State of Utah Department of Natural Resources, Utah Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands, and the Bureau of Land Management, are assigned to the fire. The fire is being suppressed to protect critical watershed and transmission lines. Road and campground closures are currently in effect. The area at the Junction of Sheep Creek road (Forest Service Road #051) and Indian Creek road (Forest Service road #042) know as Unicorn Ridge campground and dispersed camping area, including entire segments of Forest Service road #032, Forest Service road #761, Tie Fork road (Forest Service road #725) and Upper Tie Fork Single Track trail (Forest Service trail #023) located in Township 10 South, Range 6 East, Section 19, northeast quarter all within the Salt Lake Based Meridian.
Yesterday’s road closure update: When fire operations are underway, Forest Road #042 (Indian Creek Road) between Sheep Creek Road (#051) and it’s junction with Forest Road #043 and on Forest Road #043, between its junction with Forest Road #042, south to its junction with Forest Road #131 will be closed.
A large fire that could affect travel to Ogden via SR 84 erupted yesterday. As of press time, multiple homes have been evacuated and a handful of structures have been lost due to a large grass fire that continues to spread in southern Weber County.
Road closures: Both directions of Interstate 84 is closed from mile marker 85 to mile marker 89, and a large part of Highway 89 have been closed due to the fire. In addition to the roads Weber Fire District says are being evacuated.
