Midway-Sandy: Sarah Leona Edwards passed away peacefully at home with family Aug. 30, 2013 at the age of 87.

She was born Aug. 10, 1926, to George Layson Hamilton and Zella Gladys Giles, raised by Sarah Elisa Hamilton McDonald and George McDonald, referred to as Grandma and Grandpa. She resided in Heber City and attended Wasatch High School where she met and married Ralph J. Edwards of Charleston on Feb. 20, 1942. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo City LDS Temple where they were sealed to their family on July 12, 1984. Her life was dedicated to her husband and family. She was a loving caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend who enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, crocheting, cooking and canning.

She is survived by her brother Joseph G. Hamilton; her children: June (Joe), Larry (Kathleen), Johnny (Linda), George (Paula), Parley (Clay) and Karl, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Most recently preceded in death by her husband Ralph in 2011.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Sept. 6, at 1 p.m., at the Midway City Cemetery, 600 W. 500 S. Midway. Flowers may be sent to Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 North Main Street, Heber City.
