Usually during the first few weeks of summer vacation, when the novelty of no school and ample free time wears off, parents across the valley hear the all-too-familiar “Mom, Dad... I’m bored!!!” whine from their children.
Kids complaining of nothing to do? Well, one just needs to get the kids out of their houses, away from the TV, computers and video games... and enjoy what our Valley has to offer. And they can earn new Brag Tags in the process.
There seems to be something for everyone coming up in the next few weeks.
This weekend Wasatch County plays host to cowboys and Native Americans. The annual Heber Valley Pow Wow and Rendezvous will be up at Soldier Hollow this weekend.
At the Wasatch County Events Center is the Utah High School Rodeo Finals. Come see these great cowboys and cowgirls compete.
Next week, who can resist the annual Chevy Classic Car Show at Heber City’s Park? From Corvettes to Cameros. From Mustangs to Malibus, this car show will have them all. Plus “Doc” the Hudson from the movie Cars!
Also next weekend, make sure to cheer on the runners for the 10th annual Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay.
Beginning this Thursday night are the weekly Concerts in the Park and Farmer’s Market at Heber City’s Park. The Plein Aire art show at Midway Town Hall the first week of July.
Also in July is the High Valley Arts production of Music Man in Midway. Watch the Wave for more information on dates.
And the Wasatch County Fair, rodeo and demolition derby are right around the corner.
Yes, there is much to do and see in Heber Valley - and the summer is just beginning.
So don’t complain that there is nothing to do in this little hamlet. Most, if not all of these activities have Brag Tags available just for attending.
Pick and choose your favorite activities to attend and have a great summer.
