MEETING

Notice is hereby given that the MIDWAY CITY PLANNING COMMISSION will hold a meeting on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the Midway Community Center, located at 160 West Main Street, Midway, Utah, to consider the following items:

Russ Watts is proposing Code Text Amendments of Midway City’s Land Use Code that would amend the code to allow residential condominiums in the C-2 zone. The proposed changes are in Sections 16.5.2 and 16.13.36.

Clifford and Victoria Chaney are requesting a Conditional Use Permit for a carpentry and woodworking shop. The property is located at 30 East 100 South and is in the C-2 zone.

Midway City is proposing a Code Text Amendment of Midway City’s Land Use Code of Title 16 regarding Residential Facilities for Elderly Persons, Rest Homes, Nursing, and Convalescent Facilities. The City would like to review the current code and potentially amend the regulations for these facilities.

Midway City is proposing a Code Text Amendment of Midway City’s Land Use Code that would amend the requirements for setbacks of planned unit developments, large-scale and small-scale subdivisions located in Sections 16.16.8, 16.16.9 and 16.17.7 of the Land Use Code. This item is based on amendments made to the General Plan that were adopted earlier this year. Those amendments promote preserving view corridors and the rural atmosphere of Midway.

Midway City is proposing a Code Text Amendment of Midway City’s Land Use Code of Section 16.16.8 that would amend densities in Planned Unit Developments. This item is based on amendments made to the General Plan that were adopted earlier this year.

Midway City is proposing a Code Text Amendment of Midway City’s Land Use Code of Sections 16.16.11 and 16.16.12 that would amend open space requirements for large-scale standard subdivisions and Planned Unit Developments. This item is based on amendments made to the General Plan that were adopted earlier this year.

Midway City is proposing a Code Text Amendment of Midway City’s Land Use Code of Section 16.13.36 (D) that would amend Commercial PUDs and Condominium Projects.

NOTICE

Midway City is currently solicitating bids for the new construction of the Midway City Public Works maintenance shop. It is the metal portion for a new equipment maintenance shop. We would like to have the structure purchased, delivered and ready for installation by Thursday March 1, 2018. We have enclosed a copy of the architecture drawings for review.

Bids must include a set of engineered plans and purchase prices of the materials required to build the metal portion of this new building.

Bids are due by 2pm on Thursday December 7, 2017. Bids can be submitted in the following ways.

Wasatch County Fire District

Public notice is hereby given that on December 12, 2017 at 6:00 pm, a public budget hearing for the Wasatch County Fire District will be held at the Wasatch County Administration Building, located at 25 N Main in Heber City, Utah. The purpose of the hearing is to adopt the 2018 calendar year budget for the Fire District. A copy of the tentative budget will be available at the District Business Office located at the Jordanelle Fire Station, 10420 North Jordanelle Blvd., Heber City, Utah, and can be inspected during regular office hours Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm. The tentative budget is also available on the Fire District Web Site wasatchcountyfire.com. The District Board will also open the Wasatch County Fire District 2017 calendar year budget to allow for the adjustment of any additional revenue and expenses.

CANVASS RESULTS

The Midway City Council canvassed the returns for the 2017 Municipal General Election. The Council declared Celeste T. Johnson (Mayor), Jeff Drury (City Council) and Jared (JC) Simonsen (City Council) the winners and approved the following results:

Precincts Reporting: 100%; Registered Voters: 3,019; Ballots Cast: 2,016; Voter Participation: 66.8%; all eligible absentee and provisional ballots were counted.

Mayor: Colleen Bonner, 853 votes, 42.69% and Celeste T. Johnson, 1,145 votes, 57.31%.

City Council: Don Huggard, 826 votes, 24.73%; Jeff Drury, 1,298 votes, 38.86%; Jared (JC) Simonsen, 858 votes, 25.69%; W. Kent Kohler, 358 votes, 10.72%.
