Search and Rescue teams from across the State of Utah trained together at Fish Lake in Sevier County. Their training ranged from water rescue, to loading patients and equipment in and out of military helicopters.
On Saturday evening, they held an awards ceremony and recognized one member out of the entire State for exemplary service. The 2019 SAR Member of the Year is Wasatch County’s Kam Kohler.
This prestigious award is sponsored by the Utah Sheriff’s Association and the FBI National Academy.
“Kam definitely has excellent know-how, skill, and a service-oriented mindset. More than anything, I know that he genuinely cares about each SAR member and their families. In addition to all of that, this is in the big picture, a team recognition – one for which Wasatch Search and Rescue is very deserving. Thanks to each of you for your hard work – for answering every call for help, regardless of where it is across the state!” said Wasatch County Sheriff Jared W. Rigby.
