Jerry Kener, son of Verne J. Kener and Leah Dunford Kener, died on Oct. 31, 2013, in Peoria, AZ. He fought a valiant battle with cancer and tried his hardest to stay for his beloved grandkids.

Born on Valentine’s Day in 1933, and died on Halloween 2013. He knew how to make his mark. Jerry was survived by his wife Connie Lyon Kener; his 4 children: Carolyn, Brian, Sherrie and Christie. The joys of his life were his grandsons: Jeremy, Christian, Alex, Brandon and Ryan. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Navy for 8 yrs. and talked often of his experiences while in Japan, during the Korean war. Jerry had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and was not afraid to share it with anyone. He was a resident of Midway for 26 years and lived part time in Peoria, AZ, for 16 years.

Jerry’s funeral will be held at the Midway Stake bldg, Center Street, on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m. He will be greatly missed. His favorite saying to his grandkids was “I love you more than anything, everything and anywhere!”
