On Saturday, about 15 people with limb loss, limb difference, and other physical challenges hit the water at Jordanelle Reservoir for the first ever Adaptive Utah Water Sports Day. Attendees and their families were able to experience a variety of sports, ranging from wake surfing, wake boarding and water skiing, to kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddle boarding, all adapted to be accessible to people who use prosthetic limbs or have other physical differences. The event was open to children and adults, and staffed by certified prosthetists and orthotists with expertise in adapting sports to various ability levels. Many participants were trying these water sports for the very first time.
