The USU Extension Master Gardener volunteer training course is held at the beginning of each year, once a week, February to April, amounting to 40 hours of college-level classroom instruction taught by Utah State University Extension specialists and Extension faculty (this is a not-for-credit class and there are no prerequisites for this training course). There is also a requirement of 40 hours of hands-on volunteer service to be completed through USU Extension-approved volunteer projects by Autumn in order to become a fully-certified USU Extension Master Gardener.
